Some took home great prizes and some just took home stories of a great afternoon and evening. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the day, we can't wait for next years Golf Day!
KellCo Rural Agencies has experienced an excellent year of growth buoyed by record cattle and real estate prices, as well as it's expansion in the North Burnett and the purchase of the Monto Saleyards.
It has been a big 12 months for owners, Andrew Cavanagh and Brendan Kelly, who established KellCo Rural Agencies six years ago, collectively bringing with them a wealth of knowledge as livestock agents.
"We had both been in the agency game for approx. 12 years, having worked in various areas in Queensland," Mr Cavanagh said.
However, in April, they took the next step and purchased the Monto Saleyards, further growing the business.
"It's always been an ambition for KellCo to have a presence in the North Burnett and Monto fitted the bill being my hometown. It was a great opportunity and a rare chance to own a privately owned saleyards in Queensland," Mr Cavanagh said.
With the business now based out of Monto and Dalby with a presence in Chinchilla also, he said they serviced a large part of the state, from Central Queensland to the Darling Downs, Maranoa and Warrego.
Offering an impressive range of services including livestock, real estate, rural property and property management, KellCo Rural Agencies conduct a fortnightly fat and store cattle sale, operating out of their EU accredited Monto selling complex. KellCo also market cattle weekly through the Dalby saleyards.
"We specialise in private and paddock sales, Auctions Plus, and have a very big feedlot business, as well as now adding the saleyards," Mr Cavanagh said.
Both he and Mr Kelly, along with their experienced team, provide professional market advice in both the livestock and real estate space across the Darling Downs, Burnett and beyond. “In addition to the fat and store sales, we also hold an annual Prime Cattle Show and Sale, Store Cattle show and sale, All Breeds Bull sale, and are Auctions Plus accredited. It's been a massive year, with the expansion into more bull sales, also conducting sales for Brangus, Santa Gertrudis, Angus and Charbray studs. The biggest sale we've had since we purchased the saleyards, was 2200 head at our June weaner/store sale."
With plans to increase the capacity of the saleyards, implement a new clearing facility and put money back into the local community, KellCo is also looking forward to the grand opening of it's new office in Dalby in December.
"With our new office presence in Dalby, we will have a hub of rural and residential property salespeople. It certainly is an exciting time for our business, and we are very thankful for all those clients that continue to support us."
