Dalby Market Report for 7 August 2024

Interim report Dalby agents penned 6,047 head which included 1,260 from far western QLD and a handful from Nsw and SA with 4,690 from the local supply area. All the regular processors and feeder buyers attended along with local restockers.

At the time of this interim report yearling steers to feed for the domestic market have sold to 392c/kg. Heavy yearling steers to feed sold to 379c with those over 480kg at 300c/kg. Domestic feeder heifers sold to 364c/kg. Heavy yearling heifers to feed averaged 305c and sold to 364c/kg. Heavy yearling heifers to the wholesale meat trade sold to 320c/kg.

Bullocks in the 500-600kg range to processors made 355c with those to feed at 332c/kg. Bullocks over 600kg to processors made 358c to average 347c/kg. Grown heifers to processors averaged 305c and sold to 346c/kg. Medium weight plain cows to processors sold from 182c to 240c/kg. Heavy score 2 cows sold from 214c to 260c/kg. Good heavy cows sold from 265c to 299c/kg. Heavy bulls to processors sold to 264c/kg.
