The supply of stock at Dalby continued to decline by a further 264 head down to 4,786. Just over 4,000 head were from the local supply area along with 125 from New South Wales plus 625 head from far Western Queensland. The quality of the number of classes was not up to the standard of the previous week. Buyer attendance was good and all were operating.
Heavy weight yearling steers to feed at the time of this interim report could not maintain the levels of the previous week and sold to a market 8c/kg less. Medium and heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 30c to 40c/kg cheaper with some of the losses attributed to the quality penned. A relatively small selection of bullocks experienced very little change in price. However all classes of cows lost ground in price with reductions of 10c to 12c and up to 15c/kg in places.
Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 371c and made to 390c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed sold to 388c with an average of 374c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 282c and made to 312c and the heavy weights made to 338c to average 295c/kg.
Bullocks made to 349c to average 345c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 243c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows made to 290c to average 280c/kg. Good heavy weight cows averaged 299c with a couple of very heavy high yielding cows to 322c/kg to return $2,545/head. Heavy weight bulls were cheaper at 292c/kg.
