There was a small reduction in supply of 201 head to 5,050 at Dalby. The large panel of export and feeder buyers of the previous week returned and all were operating in a firm to dearer market. A fair panel of restocker buyers were also present and operating selectively.
Light weight yearling steers and heifers returning to the paddock could not maintain the levels of the previous week and lost 8c to 15c/kg. However feeder classes were firm to dearer with heavy weight yearling steers to feed 6c better and heavy weight yearling heifers to feed gained 24c/kg. All classes of cows sold to a dearer trend with improvements of 8c to 11c/kg with the plain condition lines receiving the largest gains. Heavy weight bulls averaged 18c/kg dearer.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 438c with the largest numbers from 378c to 384c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 376c to 377c with sales to 411c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 382c and made to 397c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock mostly sold from 289c to 293c with sales to 330c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged from 312c to 317c with some to 350c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed were the highlight to average 351c with a run of over 70 head making to 370c/kg.
Heavy grown steers to export processors averaged from 333c to 345c and bullocks made to 348c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows made to 270c to average 258c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows made to 301c to average 290c/kg. Good heavy weight cows averaged 311c and made to 319c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 325c/kg.
