The number of cattle penned at Dalby reduced by a further 168 head to 4,618. The supply of stock from far Western Queensland also reduced to 385 along with a small sample of 56 from New South Wales and 45 head from South Australia. Buyer attendance and activity across all classes was good.
Heavy weight yearling steers to feed at the time of this interim report have sold to a very solid market for the quality penned. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed regained some of the previous weeks losses. A small selection of heavy grown steers and bullocks sold to a firm market. Very plain condition cows to restockers were noticeably dearer. Heavy weight cows also regained the losses of the previous sale to average 10c to 15c/kg better.
Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 398c to average 368c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 323c and sold to 330c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 344c and averaged 327c/kg.
Heavy grown steers and bullocks averaged 345c with the bullock portion making to 349c/kg. Very plain condition cows to restockers averaged 245c with sales to 248c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows to processors averaged 249 and made to 265c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 285c and the best of the cows made to 315c to average 307c/kg. Heavy weight bulls were dearer with sales to 322c/kg.
